: Serve American Express Prepaid Debit Accounts were discontinued on June 2, 2026 and Accounts were officially closed on June 3, 2026.
Key dates of the discontinuation included:
February 24, 2026: This was the last day you could utilize bill pay functionality.
May 5, 2026: This was the last day you could add funds to your Account.
June 2, 2026: This was the last day you could spend funds on your Account.
September 8, 2026: This will be the last day you can log in and view prior transactions and statements.
: If you had any remaining funds on your closed Account after June 3, 2026, a refund check will be sent to you in the mail. Please ensure your physical mailing address and email address are updated in your Account. Please allow 5 weeks to receive your refund check. It should arrive by the second week of July.
: Any direct deposits sent to your Account after May 5, 2026 will be declined, and the funds returned to the sender, which will cause a delay in receiving your funds.
: Other prepaid products, issued by parties not affiliated with or operating on the American Express network, can be viewed at serve.com.
